The injury point

In later 2017 I was doing a trial membership at a martial arts and boxing gym here in my hometown. I was happy with crossfit and strongman, but I wanted to brush up on some self defense skills.
During a punching drill I got fatigued and let my focus slip and landed a punch with my knuckles angled downward instead of straight on. I felt a sharp pain inside my wrist, where the bottom of the hand meets the wrist. I walked it off and figured I'd tweaked something but that it would go away by the next day.
It didn't go away until January of 2020, when I ultimately had surgery.
The so-called injury point was the first time I felt the type and location of pain I associate with kienbock's. I don't believe one lazy punch caused this. Kienbock's is a progressive degenerative condition. This was probably the straw that broke the camel's lunate. Maybe it was even the point at which I chipped a piece off of it, we don't know.
By the way, if you're new to dealing with kienbock's get familiar with hearing, "we don't know," because your doctors and specialists will tell you this with stunning frequency. The good news is, YOU know. You know your body. You'll get to know your body with this condition. You know you can keep going with whatever you want to do in this life, or at least I hope you do. Don't let what the experts don't know interfere with what you do.
That's the brief story of my injury point that started this journey. I'm curious, what as yours? Was there one point or did it come on gradually? Leave a comment. So little is know about kienbock's your experience and perspective is unique and valuable
